FAQs

Here you'll find clear, honest answers about coaching  - what it is, what it isn’t, and what you can expect if we work together. You’ll find two main sections below: What Life Coaching IS and What Life Coaching Is NOT, followed by answers to the most common questions people have before they begin working with me.

If you’re feeling curious, unsure, or simply want to understand the process more clearly, you’re in the right place.

What Life Coaching IS

Life coaching is a future-focused, supportive process that helps you create a meaningful change in your life, moving from where you are now to where you want to be. It involves clarifying what matters most to you, identifying the patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back, and setting goals with practical actions to reach them.

The areas of life coaching include;

  • confidence and self-belief

  • self-care and wellbeing routines

  • relationships

  • career changes and meaningful work

  • creativity and self-expression

  • navigating major life transitions

  • discovering your life purpose

Coaching is non-judgemental, encouraging, and accountability-based - it allows you to understand yourself more deeply and take consistent steps toward the life you want to live.

What Life Coaching IS NOT

Life coaching is not counselling or therapy. Therapy and counselling often focus on healing the past and working through trauma, mental illness, or deep emotional distress. Coaching is focused on the present and future - supporting you to set goals, build self-awareness, and take forward-moving action. If you find you need ongoing support to process trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, addiction, or significant mental health challenges, therapy may be the better support.

Life coaching is also not consulting. A consultant tells you what to do. Coaching is different; I won’t “hand you the answers.” Instead, I’ll ask powerful questions, help you understand yourself more deeply, and support you to make choices that are right for you.
